" ... While at Cal, Dykes took a team from one win in 2013 to an 8-5 record two years later and a win over Air Force at the Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl in Amon G. Carter Stadium.

Cal’s eight wins in 2015 marked the school’s most since 2009. The Golden Bears also cracked the national rankings for the first time since 2010, climbing as high as No. 19. Additionally, Dykes led Cal to a pair of wins over Texas.

Dykes developed quarterback Jared Goff into the No. 1 overall pick in the 2016 National Football League Draft.

Under Dykes, Cal’s offense set a modern-era record for points scored and shattered all the program’s offensive marks. Cal became the first college football team in history to have six players with 40 or more receptions and three 500-yard rushers in the same season.

In Dykes’ first season in Berkeley, the Golden Bears became the first team in the program’s modern era to score 55 or more points in a game three times, including at least 40 on five occasions and 30 or more 10 times.

Dykes came to Cal after spending three seasons as head coach at Louisiana Tech. In his final campaign in 2012, he directed an offense that led the nation in both scoring (51.5 points per game) and total offense (577.9 yards per game). The 51.5 points per game marked the fifth-best scoring average in history by an FBS team.

After inheriting a LA Tech team that was 4-8 the year before his arrival, it took Dykes just two seasons to lead the Bulldogs to the 2011 WAC title. It was the program’s first league championship in a decade. He compiled a 22-15 overall record with the Bulldogs and won 16 of 17 regular-season games during one stretch.

Dykes’ 2012 Louisiana Tech team had road victories over Illinois, Houston and Virginia while reaching as high as No. 18 in the national rankings.

Prior to becoming a head coach, Dykes worked as an assistant in the Pac-12, Big 12 and SEC under Mike Stoops (Arizona), Mike Leach (Texas Tech) and Hal Mumme (Kentucky).

As offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Arizona for three seasons (2007-09), Dykes helped the Wildcats to the 2008 Las Vegas Bowl and 2009 Holiday Bowl. Arizona had previously gone 10 seasons without a bowl appearance.

Under Dykes’ direction, Arizona’s offense set multiple school records and ranked among the national leaders in passing yards and scoring ... "

Final offseason update heading into camp

Sounds like to me with the use of headsets and iPads that’s been a major factor to development and this can be elite.

If OL is elite and we land David Sanders Jr. I think Frye officially would have “gotten over the hump” At same time Armstrong twins, Luke Montgomery, Ian Moore all love Frye for a reason.

online being good is such a breath of fresh air.

Cody Simon being a dude wasn’t on my bingo card.

Any word on the TE battle? Or do we just accept that we’re more than likely f’d? 😂

Final offseason update heading into camp

Few things. No show today more baseball stuff last min but we will be back.
Tomorrow @ 3pm
Friday @10am
and we are adding a Sat show tbd

Coaches are back on in the building and on the grind come Monday meaning things are about to enter GO MODE.

A few notable things. In the new technology world for college football OSU is going to be at the forefront of it. Having the headset and iPads already in action is going to speed up development like crazy. Chip being able to call a play and give 3 reminders to the QB after the playcall is essentially like having a coach in the huddle and if you like young QBs playing early this definitely will help ease the mind and coaches may trust some to play early.... Zach can explain the system a little better than I can.

2 players having a ridiculous offseason and will be "Turning some heads" Cody Simon and well I actually cant believe I am typing this but um Jo umm Josh Fryar is a "Fucking DUDE" and the offensive line is going to be really fucking good according to someone who would really really and I mean really know. Go re read that and just know that I double checked some things that were said and there is definitely a level of confidence around that group that wasn't there last year. I know hard to believe considering the last actual game we saw them in was the cotton bowl.

Starting the all-American Hype for Cody so get ready for my next Kris hot take of the week lol

Oline gonna be good is the word on the street.

I've always been a big believer in getting the young guys on the field if its close at all. That would mean CJ and Luke but it sounds like there is a gap between CJ and Cody as well as Luke and Josh. Sonny is starting at the Will also that battle should be wrapped up early into camp.

Recruiting front i have sanders in for those that keep asking :)
Jarquez Carter the DL from Florida commits tomorrow. Us and Miami and they have a big bag for him. BUT i feel good about the good guys :)

Brody Lennon also please please keep an eye on the Ohio Jermey Shockey iykyk
Hearing O line is doing well and that there is something there is refreshing and honestly great to hear.

CJ Hicks. . . Is he going to play the Jack ? Or is he gonna rotate with Cody ? Idk why we can utilize 3 LB looks. Or just line up in different packages,

David Sanders Jr 🔥👀

Brody is a fucking DAWG! would you say it's sounding like CJ won't play yet again, or he will be a pass rush specialist? If that's the case, who comes off the field for him?

Recruiting Notes! June 26th

Just weather the storm until Phil knight or Nike goes bankrupt trying to spend like this.

It's reminding me of Texas A&M which means we could still land some of these kids in the transfer portal when Oregon attempt to buy a chip fails.
Only difference is I have more faith in Lanning than I did with Jimbo.
