To be fair. This is the first year under day where he hasn’t locked down the state. So I’m willing to give him a pass this year since it isn’t a reoccurring theme, plus with how the landscape is now.

And even this year we got three of the top 5 in state. Where the next five we weren’t in on it didn’t offer

Yeah that's a perfect comparison. The Ohio kids care more about the rivalry. Not getting them hurts in so many ways.

If that's the case, if they still can't agree on what defense to run, something needs to change. Either Larry needs to retire, Ryan needs to grow a pair and step up and tell them who's defense they are running or Knowles needs to leave for head coaching job next season. We can't keep losing Ohio kids to other schools. Day is looking more and more like Cooper 2.0 and it worries me.

Totally agree. This is nasty work by Bama. Again just my opinion but it seems like Jim and Larry aren’t on the same page. To me Hill was always a standup edge guy and it seems like Larry tried to sell him on being the next chase young. I could be totally off base here but just my opinion.

This is an absolute miss by the staff and one that should cause coaches to be nervous. The fact you sold this kid on an edge role that we’ve never seen used is laughable. I’m so sick of selling this role of the “jack” and never use it. Either employ it this year or remove it entirely and just play a 4 down front.

Ok now that we lost Hill... was this a recruiting thing or a money thing? If he went to Oregon i would be more likely to think it was about money. But since it was Bama, i feel like Coach Johnson just lost the recruiting battle. Do we know anything about this?

How we feeling about our chances today? I actually think this is huge for us. I think justin hill is crazy under ranked. I thknk he is the 2nd most important get, only 2nd to David Sanders. I think he is more important than McNutt. He has a skill set that is so needes here. He is so damn good and is exactly what kind of kid we need. Knowles could make this kid an absolute monster if they let him just play free.
