Recruiting Notes! June 26th

So you think both McNutt AND Hill are heading to Oregon?
If mcnutt and hill both go elsewhere that's a bad bad look. We need to keep our talent in state. We need to get one of them to save face. Mcnutt may go to Oregon, I hope we get Hill and Brew. I've had a bad feeling about mcnutt for a long time now.

CBs for Odom and Roy. Is LJ really going to get both? Tj and Riley would be an insane first
Cycle ge. Any word on what happened with Davidson?
Davison is fat. Was weighing 240 on his visit and money became a factor. OSU isn't looking to get in a bidding war for a fat RB when we have two solid backs on the class

Is Natty or Bust fair for Ryan Day?

I get what you're saying with fluke injuries and all that, but with how much the coaches are paid shouldn't they be able to overcome that?
It hard to overcome fluke injuries and bad refs no matter how much money they make.

Not to mention outside of Kirby and Dabo who is currently an active coach that has won a natty? It's not many because it's so hard to do.

Is Natty or Bust fair for Ryan Day?

If it was just skill and talent alone natty or bust would be fine but because fluke injuries, cheap shots, or a bad ref can ruin an extremely talented teams chances at the natty.

For me Ryan Day has to do 3 things.

1. Beat Michigan
2. Win the Big 10
3. Deep playoff run.

Winning a natty is just too out of control of the team for it be the standard.

Is Natty or Bust fair for Ryan Day?

If 'Natty or Bust' is too high of expectations, then what expectations should we hold for Coach Day, who is among the highest-paid coaches in CFB, has one of the highest compensated staffs, and has one of the most talented rosters in the sport?

Gang! Ive got a Korner coming out shortly but wanted to give you some notes first.

Ohio State should be between 25-27 Kids this class which is larger than they have taken before. That's much closer to the Bamas and UGAs of the world. Obviously you will either get them on the front end or you take transfers on the back end if you are thin at a position. My belief is that the formula involves both.

Riley Pettijohn who I think is a top 3 LB in the class who i previously believed was going to Texas I'm starting to get optimistic regarding OSUs chances. Two people i spoke 2 and Zeke really think that either OSU leads or is second behind Texas A&M. Sounds like LJ has done an exceptional job but now we got to see if he can get it done. Major swing and OSU is in a far better place than i thought. I love the kids tape and im being careful about getting my hopes up BUT im hearing lots of encouraging things.

I talked to Bodpegn Millers high school coach and he told me that people are expecting that kid to get to about "6-5 6-6 215-225" Which is outrageous size and the kid is a super fluid athlete. I am gonna go see him at some point just to see first hand.

Still on the Brew is IN and McNutt isnt hill (again i hope im wrong) but I think Dan Lanning is going to win this one.

OSU imo leads for Sanders. Will commit in August or thats what the plan was. Us and the Vols are the top 2 but again its its fluid.

Phillip Bell the WR its between us and USC, if we dont land another WR by the end of August i would also put him in the class.

Is Natty or Bust fair for Ryan Day?

As long as he beats Michigan, wins the big 10, and makes a deep playoff run I am okay with Ryan Day.

Winning a natty especially in an extended playoff requires a fair bit of luck as much as talent or skill. In a one or done playoff situation all it takes is a bad call or 2 by the refs or a fluke injury to derail a teams playoff run.

Zion Grady BOOM

David sanders seems to be just as important for optics and momentum. He's also a stud, but ttun developed three stars into NC. I think we get those pat elflein/ taylor decker kids. Start extending more offers. And taking more. Stud may have been more successful and better than we gave him credit for. Also harry miller, luke wypler, Matt jones,Jones, Munford,
